- The Journey at a Glance
Umrah in four steps
1
Ihram
Purify, dress in Ihram and make your intention before the Meeqat.
2
Tawaf
Circle the Ka’bah seven times, starting at the Black Stone.
3
Sa'ee
Walk seven laps between the hills of Safa and Marwah.
4
Halq / Taqsir
Shave or trim the hair — your Umrah is complete.
- Step 01
Ihram — before the Meeqat
Ihram is the sacred state you enter for Umrah. Prepare yourself before your flight or bus crosses the Meeqat boundary.
Before you enter Ihram
- Trim nails, remove unwanted hair and take a full bath (ghusl); at minimum, make wudhu.
- Men wear two plain, unstitched white sheets — one around the waist, one over the shoulders.
- Women wear their regular modest clothing; there is no special colour.
- Make your intention (niyyah) — in any language — and begin reciting the Talbiyah.
